I have always been a big fan of flavored milk ,so I found out the use of home made nut milk to be a better alternative to the low fat cow milk that I had normally used. The low fat version of cow milk is said to have more of stabilizers and chemicals rather than the normal milk components. Then I slowly started experimenting with the nut milks ,and guess what , I fell in love with them instantly!! Apart from this, the nuts and spices in homemade nut milk offer a range of nutritional benefits, aside from their comfort-provoking flavors.
And thus I gave away my cravings for that notorious sugar-loaded, heavy cream hot chocolate in the shelves, which is awfully tempting during these cold.

YES…This is delicious!
2 cups of walnut milk (or any nut milk).
½ cup of chopped chopped dark /semi sweet chocolate
¼ cup of cup cocoa or cacao powder + sweetener of your choice
¼ teaspoon of coffee powder for a punch ( Optional)
- Melt the Dark chocolate in a separate small bowl, in 30 second increments in the microwave, or over a double boiler ,that is ,a large bowl over a saucepan with simmering water.
- Once melted, spoon 1/3 cup of almond milk into the bowl and whisk to combine to a chocolate “sauce” consistency ,to make it easy to mix with the milk.
- Once combined, add to the almond milk and blend or whisk until well combined. Taste and adjust flavor. You could add more melted chocolate or cocoa powder or sweetener for an intense flavor.
- Chill and serve .alternatively store in closed container.Remember to Shake well before serving. This could be kept in the fridge for upto 5 days.
